Preoperative 3D planning has become indispensable in shoulder arthroplasty. Ultimately, this can be seen again in interesting contributions to this year’s Paris “International Shoulder Course” with topics such as “Evolution of the preoperative planning in ATSA and what is the future?” or “Update on preoperative planning for RTSA”.
In line with the importance of this topic, we are not standing still with the further development of our mediCAD 3D Shoulder module. In regular intervals we continue to improve our features and add new ones.
A new feature in the upcoming version is the display of K-wire guidance during implant templating. This allows direct estimation and orientation of the K-wire entry point and angle equivalent to the orientation of the glenoid component.

Now you no longer only have the option of using the K-wire entry point visualized using our glenoid model as an orientation, but now also have a three-dimensional representation available.
